THE 10 WORST MOVIES OF 2017

Yes, we may be three months into 2018 but I felt there was no time like the present to finally bring you my personal list of the ten worst movies from 2017. As always, there's been some absolute stinkers but before we get to that, here's a few dishonourable mentions for films lucky to avoid the top (or bottom) ten of 2017:

iBoy
Fist Fight
Table 19
Wish Upon
The Dark Tower
Flatliners
Geostorm

Even I'm shocked Geostorm didn't make the final list so that should show how bad the following ten films were exactly.

10) Baywatch

Pretty women and muscular men running across the beach to save the day was what made Baywatch such a TV phenomenon back in the 90s. It was totally daft but easy on the eye. Even the sight of Alexandra Daddario in a swimsuit or Dwayne Johnson and Zac Efron working on a comedy couldn't save this from being awful. The jokes are terrible and they waste a cameo for David Hasselhoff in such an unforgivable manner.

9) The Book of Henry

I have no words for the direction this film took towards the end, all I can say is that it made me laugh in utter disbelief. Supposedly, The Book of Henry was a passion project for Colin Trevorrow but it's one he will probably look back on and think, "Why?"

8) Snatched

I'm starting to think Amy Schumer is a one-hit wonder because everything I've seen her in since Trainwreck has been majorly unfunny. I'm certain she has comedic talent but Snatched criminally wastes both her and Goldie Hawn. From the looks of I Feel Pretty, I've got a feeling Schumer could be making an appearance on next year's list.

7) Sandy Wexler

It wouldn't be a worst movies of the year list without Adam Sandler making an appearance right? Sandy Wexler is the latest from the Sandler/Netflix deal which is overlong, unfunny and totally overindulgent in annoying traits usually found in Sandler "comedies".

6) Rings

Zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz.

5) Death Note

Netflix hired Adam Wingard to make a live action version of the much loved anime series of the same name. All they managed to do though was shit all over legacy of such an awesome show. Even Willem Dafoe as Ryuk couldn't stop me from hating this.

4) The Bye Bye Man

In a time when horror movies are having a mini renaissance, The Bye Bye Man came along and showed us how not to make a horror movie.

3) Kidnap

A film about a mother desperately trying to get her son back from some kidnappers should be taken seriously but Kidnap is so badly made that you just have to laugh at it. Halle Berry is better than this for sure.

2) Transformers: The Last Knight

The above picture makes it seem as if Optimus Prime is getting it on with Bumblebee. Michael Bay should step away from these films now and let them just reboot the whole thing without inane human characters and incomprehensible action sequences. Way too long as well.

1) The Emoji Movie

The worst of the worst from 2017, and also one of the least enjoyable experiences I've had watching a film in forever. The Emoji Movie is such a waste of everybody's time I genuinely think kids will have a hard time enjoying this one. James Corden's voice work is insanely grating too.
